(RCI) is currently seeking experienced Industrial Mechanical Welders and Combination Welders.
Position Summary: A Combination Welder will weld, fabricate, and assist pipe fitters in installation of varying types of industrial pipe into the projects piping systems.
This position will also require assisting fitters, riggers/rigging, and knowledge of process piping.
Combination Welders and Mechanical Welders will also weld piping attachments, vessels, furnace shells, tanks, structural steel, or any metal that requires joining by welding processes.
RCI has various levels of welder positions based on experience and skills ranked as follows: Welder Leadman: Certified Welder with 5+ years of experience.
Proficient in welding carbon steel, chromes, and stainless steel materials, of various wall thicknesses, with minimal Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) rejections.
Welder I: (Combo Welder) Certified Welder with 3+ years of experience.
Welds fabricated cast, rolled, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, and the pressure boundary of piping and associated piping attachments.
Proficient in welding carbon steel, chromes, and stainless steel materials with various welding processes.
Welder II: Same as Welder I with 95% competency rating or greater and at least 2+ years of experience.
Welder III: AWS D1.
1 structural steel Certified.
Preferred minimum of 1 year industrial experience.
Welds together structural metal components as specified by drawings, work orders, or oral instructions, utilizing knowledge of metallic and non-metallic materials including the specifications of the particular equipment to be used in the process.
Interested in learning and qualifying in more stringent welding requirements of pressure boundary for piping, tanks, or vessels.
Qualification Highlights: Must have the ability to weld in 2g, 4g, and 6g conditions (at Welder II position and higher) Must be able to Stick and TIG weld on pipe (at Welder II position and higher) Must have current applicable welding certification with RCI or be able to pass a weld test successfully Must have required welding experience for the welding classification Must have all required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for position - see below Must be able to meet all physical requirements Must have all tools listed below upon start date Must be able to regularly and reliably show up at the assigned job site Must meet all safety and security requirements at the assigned job site Position Responsibilities: Selects equipment and plans layouts, assembly, and welding of pipe applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metals to be assembled, metals machining, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques Layout, position, align, cut, assemble, and fit metal components together in various body positions and in various places Bolts, clamps, and tack welds parts to secure in position for welding Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or arc gas welding equipment Weld metal materials to piping systems, supports, or associated equipment using the appropriate welding procedure for the various equipment and metal types involved Identify all equipment for job and process Identify all safety risks and requirements Preferred Additional Qualifications: Current RCI employee RCI former employee from a Reduction of Force (ROF) Current RCI Welding Certification Former experience of working with RCI Experience working as an Industrial Pipe Fitter Former experience working in the petrochemical industry Physical Requirements: Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, waling, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting Will talk and hear to communicate effectively Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push and pull various objects, materials, controls or tools Will be required to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs in weight Will work at slight heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms using the appropriate fall protection requirements Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and safety toe work boots Must be capable of working outdoors in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind, while wearing appropriate PPE.
Must be able to work for long period of times up to 12 hours a day.
