0 Position Type Staff Department IT Infrastructure Svcs Position Summary Information Job Summary/Basic Function About This Role: The Network Analyst I is an entry-level position responsible for the ongoing maintenance of network systems within the Lamar University campus, residence halls, as well as any satellite offices that may be a part of LUnet (Lamar University Network).
This position will be responsible for the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of network equipment including but not limited to switches, wireless access points, IP Phones, access control systems, video surveillance cameras and all other related networked equipment with a primary focus on LAN and WLAN.
The ideal candidate will have advanced client relations skills, be adaptable to change and able to work in a team environment.
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities Respond to network services requests and incidents.
Perform daily maintenance of campus networking systems.
Maintain university security camera and access control devices.
Serve as the point of contact for network contractors.
Perform after-hours routine software upgrades on occasion.
Key Competencies: (KSAs – Knowledge Skills and Abilities) Interface with users to provide and manage network services as outlined above.
Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Willingness to attend any technical trainings are required.
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
Interact with and provide support to Academic representatives to facilitate optimum Academic computing areas.

Preferred Qualifications 1-3 years’ experience with infrastructure/enterprise systems and support, including but not limited to: Routing: Static, VRRP, OSPF Switching: VLANs, VTP, Spanning-Tree, Virtual Chassis, LACP, WLAN Security: Firewall, security policies and procedures Network Services: DNS, DHCP, Load Balancing Vendors: Juniper, Cisco, Ruckus Wireless, Dell, Fortinet, F5 Network Monitoring Tools Create, implement, and manage procedures related to network use standards.
Ability to use network monitoring and assessment software and tools.
Prior experience working within Higher Education or K12 preferred.

certification, such as CCNA, JNCIA, Network+, etc.
