CDL-A Required
Position Summary: Ensure tubing is delivered to customers in a timely, safe manner.
Essential Functions:
Inspect truck prior to operating.
Ensure all regular truck maintenance items are maintained.
These may include, but are not limited to, tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation.
Services truck with oil, fuel and radiator fluid to maintain truck.
Maintain driver’s log in accordance with DOT requirements.
Establish positive communications and relationship with customers.
Assist in loading truck for delivery.
Paperwork – complete all necessary.
Ability to operate a semi-truck and/or a 2-ton truck.
Assist on machines in shop as needed
Drives truck, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations, to transport and deliver products.
Ensure truck is clean and organized.
Experience Required:
Previous over-the-road driving experience a plus.
Education, Certifications and Specialized Training:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and write English preferred.
Valid Commercial Driver’s License – Class A.
Job-Specific Skills and Knowledge:
Insurable driving record.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand and walk, as well as sit for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift, carry and push tubing and other items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to kneel, crouch, turn/twist, bend at waist, reach above shoulder and head, handle and feel tubes.
Required to frequently climb in and out of a truck.
Must have corrected hearing and vision to a normal range.
Must have good depth perception and peripheral vision.
Good eye/hand/food coordination is necessary for truck operation.
Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, steel-toed work shoes, and gloves while inside the manufacturing facility.
Must be capable of navigating to various customer sites.
Must be capable of regular and reliable attendance.
Working Conditions:
Must be capable of working in both an outdoor and an indoor manufacturing environment.
There is constant exposure to noise levels up to 91 decibels while inside the manufacturing environment.
Will regularly experience hot temperatures in the summer, cold temperatures in the winter, a variety of odors, dust, oil/grease, and dirt.
Exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards, and a moderate amount of moving objects.
Exposure to normal traffic hazards while driving
