REPORTING RELATIONSHIP & FUNCTIONAL ROLE
This person will report directly to the Integrator.
The Controller will direct and coordinate all Accounting and Finance functions of the company.
The Controller will adhere to CFI’s core values and core focus in dealings with company personnel, suppliers, and customers.
PRIORITIES & KEY AREAS OF FOCUS In alignment with CFI’s growth targets and commitment to operational excellence, the Controller is expected to prioritize and focus on the following key areas: Managing compliance with bank covenants, actively managing daily treasury/cash management, and fostering strong relationships with financial institutions.
Ensuring timely and accurate month-end close, adherence to proper accounting classifications, consistent financial reporting and variance analysis to support decision-making, and providing insightful financial reporting and variance analysis to support management decision-making.
Overseeing the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasts, striving for increased accurate financial planning and forecasting through monthly financial reviews.
Oversight of all accounting and finance responsibilities, including COGS, AR, AP, inventory, fixed assets, as well as account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
Lead cross-departmental initiatives to enhance system efficiencies and operational integration, including the planned Infor system migration, showcasing leadership in fostering collaboration and driving change.
Ensure adherence to all insurance regulations and requirements pertinent to the company’s operations, facilitating seamless upkeep and maintenance.
REQUIREMENTS & CONDITIONS Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university.
An active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is highly preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years in accounting with at least 5 years in a management capacity, overseeing project and personnel management.
This includes supervising at least four direct reports.
Essential experience encompasses 5+ years in manufacturing and/or inventory management, with construction industry experience beneficial.
Prior involvement in systems migration projects, particularly pre- and post-implementation phases, is desirable.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Comprehensive understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), strong mathematical and computer proficiency.
Extensive knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Excel, enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms such as Infor, and the ability to manage and improve COGS tracking and management efficiently.
Experience in inventory and fixed assets management, using the latest techniques to ensure operational flexibility and financial solidity.
Skills in data analytics, strengthening internal controls, and systems utilization for strategic decision-making and operational efficiency are preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES Company Vision, Goals, and Policies: Understand the Company vision and goals as set forth by the Integrator and the Management Team.
Enforce all Company policies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook and the CFI Business procedures and policies.
Be aware of and enforce all legal policies as set forth by all governmental agencies and legal entities that may affect the Company.
Maintain an operating and financial dashboard for CFI.
Employees, Development, Training: Determine staffing requirements using industry standards, company profitability, and department workload.
Approve each job description, salary schedule, and offer letter for the accounting department, focusing on building a team capable of achieving CFI’s strategic goals.
Accounting and Financial Operations: Maintain and regularly update a comprehensive system of accounting policies and procedures.
Ensure the effectiveness of the accounting department’s structure and operations.
Oversee the accounting operations of the company and any subsidiaries, especially control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
Manage all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to comply with GAAP and regulatory requirements, ensuring accurate financial reporting and month-end closings.
Track and manage COGS to facilitate improved margin analysis, pricing strategies, and financial health monitoring.
Oversee inventory and fixed assets with the goal of improving company practices.
Foster strong relationships with financial institutions and oversee treasury functions to support CFI’s financial health.
Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, budgets, and actual expenditures.
Coordinate activity of outside accountants.
Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.
State of the Company: Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership apprised of the company’s financial status.
Lead the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare them to actual results to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.
Review financial statements, budget reports, and any other departmental issues with accounting staff and submit a summary report to the CEO.
Review the Cash Flow report to ensure adequate cash flow for upcoming financial obligations and borrowing requirements.
Work with the Accounting department to resolve any issues and report any such problems to the Management Team.
Provide cash reporting to the Management Team.
Review Sales reports, including the Accounts Receivable Aging report, and any other departmental issues with the Sales Manager and communicate with the Management Team.
Maintain a reconciled balance sheet, work with the Purchasing & Inventory departments to address inventory issues and communicate important developments with the Management Team.
Review Business Software, Computer Issues, and any other departmental issues involving IT and communicate with the Management Team.
Deliver the latest financial insights, measurables and goals to the company during our quarterly State of The Company meeting(s).
Acquisitions and Other Responsibilities: Work with the Integrator and Management Team to analyze possible acquisitions, lead special projects, etc.
Coordinate Business Software upgrades, implementation, training, etc.
Review Customer Credit Limits, compare credit history with CFI and modify where necessary.
Approve new credit limits & credit extensions for customers after reviewing applications, credit history, and references.
