Staff Accountant

*Staff Accountant* *About Iron Horse Terminals * Iron Horse Terminals was formed in 2017.
It is a rail yard and heavy industrial park which has a wide variety of businesses operating on it.
*About the role* The staff accountant will work directly with the CFO and perform accounting functions: invoicing, payroll, inventory control, bill entry, reporting, etc.
for both the core business and a couple of other smaller businesses associated with Iron Horse.
Iron Horse is a family-owned business that is growing and evolving so the role will change with time.
*Responsibilities * * Will work in QuickBooks and other software- experience in QuickBooks is not necessary * Excel reporting for invoicing support and to monitor daily operations * Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with shop costs and inventory valuation * Monitor and enforce internal controls and ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures * Prepare financial analysis to monitor spending in key areas (labor, inventory, etc.
) * Conduct inventory reconciliations monthly * Respond to controller as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial reporting needs *Location & commitments* * 11800 Hwy 90 in Beaumont, TX * Regular 40-hour work week, normal duty hours as assigned * May work longer hours to meet deadlines as necessary *Candidate requirements* * Bachelor's degree in accounting or another business discipline with accounting experience * Prefer at least 5 years of work experience * Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment * Strong problem solving and analytical skills * Good written and verbal communication skills * Ability to work with a team * Adaptable * Dependable and self-motivated * Looking for someone who wants to stay local * Excel skills * Trustworthy Job Type: Full-time Benefits: * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Schedule: * Monday to Friday Ability to Relocate: * Beaumont, TX: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
